Founding AI Systems Engineer
Own the runtime that powers every product: agent orchestration, tool calling, memory, planners, evaluators, and the routing core. Deep systems work, in production.
What you'll do
- Design and operate the agent runtime: planning, tools, memory, retries, isolation
- Land the router, scheduler, and evaluator that 30 verticals depend on
- Drive reliability — SLOs, traces, replay, deterministic regressions
- Make execution cheap and fast: caching, batching, streaming, partial results
- Set the engineering rules everyone else builds against
What you bring
- 6+ years systems-level engineering — runtimes, schedulers, or large-scale services
- Has built or operated an agent runtime, workflow engine, or LLM platform
- Strong Python plus comfort across TypeScript and Postgres
- Cares about correctness, observability, and replay — not just throughput
Nice to have
- Worked on a programming language, runtime, or workflow engine before
- Built tool-calling / function-calling layers in production
- Strong eye for protocol and API design
Compensation
Founding-level equity plus competitive cash. Calibrated on first call.
